Composer Christopher Rouse says of his piece, “In the early 1980’s, I conceived of a plan to compose a collection of Christmas carols couched in an overall form similar to that of Carmina Burana…” A compilation of eight carols sung in eight different languages, each as individual as the language and country of representation.
George Frideric Handel Messiah Performed by guest vocalists: Jessica Medoff, Leah Edwards, Mark Womack, John Carlo Pierce Accompanied by the NMSU Masterworks Chorus First performed in Dublin in 1742 eventually becoming one of the best known and frequently performed choral works in Western music. This transcendent music, sung by four guest soloists and a 100 person choir, will have the entire recital hall floating on a sea of beautiful music.
